Desires are endless. Constantly we raise a thought of having something or not wanting something to happen. Both are desires. But what exactly happens when things don't happen according to our wish? We become sad, demotivated, built negative emotions against it or drift ourselves, and become depressed. Which is nothing but inviting an unreasonable pain into our lives.
Most of the pain we suffer is a result of our desires. That means we have the whole charge of the incidents happening in our lives. But we either blame others, ourselves or if we get nothing else we blame destiny. That means the real dealing of situations is something else but we are looking towards it in a completely different manner.
The explanation tells you directly that the desire you create is the root cause of the pain you feel today. So there should be no desire in life. But it's a very difficult stage to be achieved in life and it's nothing but becoming saintlike.
Life and the surrounding we live in constantly builds desires. But if we know the right method, we can tackle it in the right manner so that at least we can save ourselves from the pain which is developed due to that. Let's look into some methods of it
- Reasonable desire:
Firstly we should always check upon ourselves whether our desire is reasonable or unreasonable. It means what are the chances of its possibilities and makes a deep introspection about it. Know the right pros and cons of it and will you be able to take the charge of it.
- Personal desire or desire from the other:
Also, you need to look into the point of whether the desire is from yourself or the other. If it is from the other there is a high chance of it failing. As we can't take the charge of someone else as the other has their own desires and we can't rule or change them. So you need to rule out the desire if it's from the other.
- Acceptance of the worst:
One should look at, what worst could happen to what we have desired. Once we have figured out the worst we should train the mind to accept it so whatever will happen in the journey towards desire it would always be better than the worst or the worst which we have already accepted.
- Making goals and developing methods towards the desire:
Once the above three points are considered one should take steps to reach towards it. And see to it that you follow every step.
- Acceptance of happenings:
When you move ahead there may come some situations which are not working the way you had planned, so that is the time you take it positively that in whatever way it is happening it's happening for your good. When your approach to it will be positive, it would be easier for you to accept whatever is happening.
- Enjoying the journey:
We need to live every moment of the process towards our desire this will help in reducing the regret of failure if in case it happens.
The use of the above methods will help you reduce the amount of pain you experience today developed due to unfulfilled desire.
